Description

We are assisting a fast growing startup which is looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to join a fantastic remote team. The role comes with great flexibility and it would require the selected candidate to work for a couple of days a week aligned with the US working hours. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for frontend and backend applications. Build and optimize testing frameworks aligned with the tech stack (TypeScript, Next.js, NestJS) Develop automated tests covering API, UI, integration, end-to-end, and performance scenarios. Collaborate closely with Software Engineers to ensure features are testable, reliable, and delivered with quality. Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and testing documentation. Identify defects, track issues, and ensure timely resolution. Participate in code reviews, offering insight on testability and automation improvements. Improve, optimise, and refactor existing automated tests for performance and stability. Contribute to overall QA strategy and champion best practices across the engineering team. Requirements: 3+ years of experience as a QA Automation Engineer, SDET, or similar role. Strong proficiency with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Jest, Mocha, or equivalent). Solid experience testing applications built with TypeScript. Hands-on experience with API automation, especially with RESTful and GraphQL services. Understanding of Next.js, NestJS, or similar front/back frameworks. Experience testing serverless or microservice-based systems (e.g., using AWS Lambda). Strong knowledge of MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases. Familiarity with AWS environments for test execution and integration. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.). Excellent debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
