JOB SUMMARY:

Drive activities concerned with development, application, maintenance & improvement of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products. Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Devise sampling procedures and design and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Establish programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment. Lead root cause analysis to address external & internal quality related problems. Support team members engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability. Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality assurance activities. Provide support of the QM in leading the IATF16949 program, including auditing. Provide leadership in transforming quality management system across Reyco Granning.

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong Problem-Solving background
• Strong statistical background
• Six Sigma Green / Black belt training preferred
• Strong Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement preferred
• Exposure to ISO &/or other quality Mgt. systems preferred
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred
• Customer orientation required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Four-year degree in technical field or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Exposure to ISO 9000 / PPAP requirements & processes preferred
• Prior experience within process improvement, error proofing, DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, process flow diagrams, and lean manufacturing.

• Follows policies and procedures to ensure quality standards are met.
• Leads the IATF 16949 program, including auditing.
• Supports quality inspectors’ and quality tech efforts
• Works with customers and customer service to address product/process related quality concerns
• Work with Purchasing to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
• Reduce process variation using Six Sigma DMAIC & other improvement methods
• Manage the Rapid Response program to effectively respond to customer feedback & make the customer whole
• Lead team in containment & disposition of identified nonconforming items
• Own the Quality leg of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) of all production work centers
• Own manufacturing scrap performance
• Investigate & countermeasure scrap & lost part issues
• Develop & improve the Material Review Board (MRB) of questionable & nonconforming items
• Maintain debit memo process for supplier issues that generate purchase or rework expenses.
• Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor, communicate and improve key supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier on-time delivery (Past due), PPM and other waste
• Create, update, & improve production inspection sheets & FLIP forms
• Complete Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation (control plan, capability studies, and applicable PPAP elements.
• Complete Measurement System Analysis (MSA) & Gauge R&R
• Complete capability studies to measure process performance
• Complete layout inspections, annual part validations, & Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR) as required
• Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances
• Assists in the establishment of the quality control system, identifying critical control points in the manufacturing process, error proofing needed, and identifying sampling plans.
• Interacts as needed with operations, maintenance, sales, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, and warranty/service.
• Review & manage Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) upon receiving into the facility
• Implement & sustain 5S conditions of quality department work centers
• Participate in layered process audits, fire extinguisher audits, part identification audits, & other audits as assigned
• Assist in the implementation of new product APQP & 3P events
• Aide manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of new supplier materials following the new product development process using supplier PPAP and/or ISIR.
• Lead supplier performance improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting Reyco Granning requirements.
• Drive “Zero Defect” mentality within the supply base, internally, and with customers
• Drives quality improvement as part of everyday efforts.
