Description
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented QA Engineer to support the quality assurance efforts in a large-scale platform replatforming program. This role focuses on the hands-on execution of functional, performance, and regression tests to ensure the new system matches the legacy system in functionality, performance, and reliability. The QA Engineer will also be responsible for automated test scripting using modern frameworks such as Playwright and Puppeteer, and contributing to parallel run comparisons. Key Responsibilities Test Design & Execution * Design and develop automated and manual test cases for validating application functionality, workflows, and data integrity. * Execute functional, regression, and integration testing based on defined user stories and requirements. * Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, and Puppeteer for UI and end-to-end validation, including cross-browser and headless testing. Performance & Load Testing * Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to validate system behavior under high-volume scenarios. * Analyze system throughput and latency metrics to identify performance bottlenecks. Parallel Run & Legacy Comparison * Participate in parallel run support by comparing outputs from the legacy (C/C++) and replatformed (Java) systems. * Work with developers to investigate and resolve any mismatches or defects. Defect Tracking & Resolution * Log, track, and validate bugs and issues using tools such as JIRA. * Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to reproduce issues and verify fixes. Agile Collaboration * Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. * Contribute to sprint testing deliverables and continuously improve test coverage and QA practices. * Support automation-first QA practices by enhancing reusable test frameworks using Playwright and Puppeteer. Required Qualifications Experience * 4–6 years of experience as a QA Engineer, Test Analyst, or similar role in enterprise software development projects. Technical Skills * Hands-on experience with test automation tools/frameworks like Selenium, Playwright, Puppeteer, TestNG, or JUnit. * Strong experience in building and maintaining UI and end-to-end automation scripts, including headless browser automation. * Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling. * Solid SQL skills for backend/database validation, preferably with Oracle. * Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and CI/CD environments, including integration of automated test suites. Soft Skills * Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Clear and concise communication skills for documentation and team collaboration. Preferred Qualifications * Experience testing Java-based enterprise applications and messaging systems (e.g., MQ, Kafka). * Exposure to parallel run testing or system replacement projects. * Hands-on experience with modern browser automation frameworks such as Playwright and Puppeteer for scalable UI testing. * Familiarity with AI-based test generation tools or exploratory testing approaches.
Responsibilities
The QA Engineer will execute functional, performance, and regression tests to ensure system parity during a large-scale platform replatforming. Responsibilities include developing automated test scripts, conducting load testing, and collaborating with development teams to resolve defects.
