JOB SUMMARY

We’re looking for a reliable and detail-focused Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will help ensure our products meet high quality standards and comply with industry regulations. This role requires experience in lab practices, quality control, and knowledge of FDA regulations. Responsibilities include inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure compliance with GMP’s.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Skills in working in a production lab environment. Fast paced, with frequent line checks.
  • Knowledge of GMP, SQF, FDA regulations, and quality control processes.
  • Skilled in laboratory testing techniques, including microbiology, and MLS testing.
  • Experience in dairy, food, or clinical lab environments, with an emphasis on quality assurance and testing.
  • Proficient in microbiological analysis, including pathogen detection and environmental monitoring.
  • Knowledge of dairy production processes and microbiological safety standards is a plus.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving techniques in troubleshooting equipment or process issues.
  • Strong communication skills for documenting results and collaborating with team members.

Responsibilities
  • Use laboratory equipment and standardized testing methods to assess and report product quality at required frequencies.
  • Conduct daily plant walk-through(s) to ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliance.
  • Analyze test results to quickly identify potential issues and ensure timely resolutions; including but not limited to:understanding & performing dairy analytical testing of butter fats & total solids
  • Conduct microbial testing using petri-film plates and perform environmental pathogen testing.
  • Collect production samples for required testing and quality control checks.
  • Regularly clean and maintain the QA Lab, laboratory equipment, and instruments to prevent contamination.
  • Complete daily HACCP / SQF documentation, verify pre-shipment reviews, and ensure proper follow-up on findings.
  • Ensure quality of batch preparation and quality control activities, including process inspection, sampling, and evaluation to meet specification and quality standards
  • Notify supervisor of any out-of-range value or variation from accepted norms in operations or product quality immediately; monitor quality problems or trends
  • Maintain lab records as directed. Complete all required paperwork accurately, clearly, timely, and completely with required information. Complete data entry into the computer system(s). Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with standard operation procedures
  • Wash lab utensils and glassware; assist with other clean-up activities -> Able to monitor CIP’s for correct concentrations
  • Follow all AFG good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements->FDA
  • Verifies the facility’s environment including items such as temperature throughout the production facility, sanitizer concentrations and other food safety related conditions ->Critical control points
  • Follow EMP - Environmental Monitoring Program using hydrasponges
