Role Purpose: The Assistant Manager Quality will be responsible for managing incoming, in-process and final quality inspection of Dry Type Transformers , including quality control during site fabrication activities. The role requires independent handling of customer witness inspections, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) preparation, calibration activities, component specifications, customer complaint analysis and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for dry type transformers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take overall responsibility for incoming inspection, in-process quality and final inspection of dry type transformers.
• Plan and conduct site fabrication inspections , ensuring workmanship, dimensional accuracy and compliance with approved drawings and QAP.
• Monitor in-process quality throughout dry type transformer manufacturing, including: Core and coil assembly Winding VPI / Casting Active part assembly Tanking and related activities
• Identify quality deviations and non-conformances and initiate timely corrective and preventive actions .
• Independently handle customer inspections and witness inspections at factory and project sites.
• Support quality activities related to oil type transformers , as required by the Manager Quality.
• Prepare and review Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) for customer submission and approval.
• Coordinate calibration of inspection, testing and measuring instruments as per applicable standards and schedules.
• Prepare and review component specifications , ensuring compliance with applicable IEC standards and customer requirements.
• Investigate customer complaints and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incoming, in-process, final and site-related quality issues.
• Maintain and support quality management systems in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 17025 requirements.
• Conduct training and awareness programs for employees on quality requirements, inspection procedures, workmanship standards and dry type transformer manufacturing practices .
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Procurement, Project and Customer teams to resolve quality-related issues.
• Ensure proper maintenance of inspection reports, quality records, NCRs, CAPA documentation and customer inspection records .

Desired Candidate Profile

Strict Requirement:

Transformer manufacturing industry experience is mandatory. Direct experience in Dry Type Transformer quality is essential. Candidates without relevant transformer manufacturing experience should not be considered.

Candidate Profile:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
• Relevant experience in Transformer Manufacturing Quality .
• Strong preference for candidates with direct experience in Dry Type Transformer manufacturing and quality inspection .
• Hands-on knowledge of transformer manufacturing processes, inspection requirements and quality documentation.
• Good understanding of IEC standards, QAP, NCR, CAPA and Root Cause Analysis .
• Experience in handling customer inspections and witness inspections .
• Knowledge of ISO-based Quality Management Systems.
• Good communication, coordination and team-handling skills.
