Description
Company Description Technology is our how. And people are our why. For over two decades, we have been harnessing technology to drive meaningful change. By combining world-class engineering, industry expertise and a people-centric mindset, we consult and partner with leading brands from various industries to create dynamic platforms and intelligent digital experiences that drive innovation and transform businesses. From prototype to real-world impact - be part of a global shift by doing work that matters. Job Description We are seeking a QA Lead to own test strategy, automation and quality assurance for Android-based card acceptance applications. You will ensure robust, repeatable testing across multiple devices and payment flows, provide clear status and quality reporting to stakeholders, and co‑ordinate QA activities across engineering, product and operations. Key Responsibilities: Define and implement the QA strategy: translate product and platform roadmaps into a comprehensive testing approach covering functional, integration, security, performance and compatibility testing for Android POS applications. Lead automation efforts: design, build and maintain test automation frameworks for POS, mobile and backend services (e.g. Appium, Espresso, UI automation, API test frameworks); drive CI/CD integration for automated test execution and reporting. Ownership of test planning and execution: author test plans, test suites and acceptance criteria; manage test data, device lab scheduling and environment provisioning for multi-device delivery. Payment-focused testing: ensure end-to-end coverage of terminal payment flows, authorisation paths, settlement, reversal and chargeback scenarios; validate compliance with PCI, NEXO and other relevant industry standards. Reporting and quality metrics: produce and maintain QA dashboards, test coverage reports, pass/fail trends, defect ageing, automation ROI and release readiness indicators for product and senior stakeholders. Defect management and triage: own defect lifecycle processes, prioritise issues with product and engineering leads, and ensure timely verification of fixes and regression control. Risk and gate control: define release quality gates, perform risk assessments, and coordinate pre-release sign-offs for production deployments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: work closely with development, infrastructure, security, product and operations to manage dependencies, stubs/mocks, service virtualisation and test environment stability. Vendor and third-party oversight: manage QA activities with external suppliers, certify third-party integrations and ensure test artefacts meet our standards. Primary Objectives: Deliver high-confidence releases of Android card acceptance applications across device families with demonstrable reduction in production defects. Achieve a high proportion of automated regression coverage and measurable reduction in manual test effort. Provide consistent, accurate and timely QA status and quality signals that enable business and engineering decisions. Ensure compliance with payment industry standards and support audit and certification activities. Improve delivery predictability by reducing test cycle times, flakiness and environment-related failures. Qualifications Knowledge & Skills: Proven QA leadership in large enterprise environments, with strong experience in payments, POS or fintech domains. Deep understanding of payment processes, terminal flows, authorisation/clearing/settlement, and relevant standards (PCI, NEXO). Strong hands-on experience in mobile testing, particularly Android: familiarity with Android internals, Java/Kotlin, emulators and real-device farms. Expertise in automation frameworks and practices: Appium, Espresso, Selenium, REST API testing tools (e.g. Postman, RestAssured), and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps). Experience with service virtualisation, test data management, and mocking payment networks/messages for reliable E2E testing. Proficient with test management and issue tracking tools: JIRA, XRay or equivalent, and experience producing automated test reporting and dashboards. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a methodical approach to root-cause analysis and defect prevention. Excellent verbal and written communication; able to present QA status, risk and trade-offs succinctly to executives and technical teams. Familiar with performance and security testing approaches relevant to payments (load testing, fuzzing, vulnerability scans). Educational & Professional Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. Professional QA or testing qualifications advantageous (ISTQB, CAST) and/or recognised Agile/testing certifications. Practical experience or certifications in payment industry controls and compliance (PCI) are highly desirable.
