QA MANAGER – BURTON-ON-TRENT

Location: Burton Manufacturing Site
Pay: £50,000 per annum
Hours of work: Full time, Monday to Friday
Contract type: Permanent

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in QA management within food manufacturing or similar regulated environments
  • Skilled at managing QA teams across shifts and fostering accountability
  • Excellent understanding of HACCP, BRC, GMP, and food safety legislation
  • Confident in conducting investigations, root cause analysis, and implementing CAPAs
  • Minimum HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 (or equivalent)
  • Effective communicator and problem-solver with a proactive and resilient mindset
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We’re seeking an experienced QA manager to lead the Quality Assurance team at our client’s Burton Manufacturing site. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape quality operations, build a high-performing team, and play a pivotal role in upholding food safety and regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the QA function, providing consistent support and coverage across all shifts
  • Coach and develop a high-performing team of three QA professionals
  • Ensure audit readiness for BRC, customer and third-party audits, including closure of non-conformances
  • Deliver effective QA checks including label audits, traceability exercises, and foreign body control
  • Own the supplier non-conformance reporting process – log, investigate, and escalate issues appropriately
  • Conduct QA-related risk assessments, using data and trend analysis to guide proactive improvements
  • Champion a right-first-time quality culture, driving continuous improvement site-wide
  • Monitor QA KPIs, reporting trends and insights to leadership to drive quality performance
  • Deliver technical training to the QA team, supporting ongoing capability and succession planning
  • Promote food safety culture and support the execution of the Site Food Safety & Quality Plan
