Description

We are looking for an exceptionally strong Quality Assurance Engineer who can help us build products that are reliable, scalable, fast, and genuinely world-class.

This is not a role for someone who simply follows test cases and reports bugs.

We are looking for someone who thinks like an engineer, understands products, breaks things intelligently, and builds the systems needed to prevent those problems from happening again.

The Role

As our QA Engineer, you will take ownership of quality across Robot24's web platforms.

You will work closely with developers, product, design, and leadership to understand how the products should work, identify where they can fail, and establish a comprehensive testing strategy covering everything from individual components to complete end-to-end user journeys.

You should be equally comfortable with:

  • Manual and exploratory testing
  • Automated testing
  • End-to-end testing
  • API testing
  • Unit and integration testing
  • Regression testing
  • Cross-browser and responsive testing
  • Performance and reliability testing
  • Marketplace-specific testing
  • Identifying edge cases that nobody else thought about

What You Will Do

Own QA across Robot24 Marketplace and Robot24 News

  • Understand the architecture, business logic, user journeys, and dependencies across both platforms.
  • Design comprehensive test strategies for new features and existing functionality.
  • Perform deep exploratory and functional testing rather than simply following predefined test cases.
  • Test complete P2P / end-to-end user journeys from beginning to end.
  • Identify edge cases, race conditions, unexpected states, data issues, and integration failures.
  • Test APIs, backend services, databases, frontend applications, and third-party integrations.
  • Build and maintain automated test suites.
  • Create regression suites that run continuously as the product evolves.
  • Introduce automated testing wherever it provides meaningful value.
  • Work closely with developers to improve unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage.
  • Validate responsive behavior across browsers, devices, and screen sizes.
  • Test complex marketplace scenarios such as registration, profiles, listings, search, filters, transactions, permissions, notifications, messaging, and account states.
  • Test different user roles and permissions thoroughly.
  • Test abnormal and malicious user behavior where appropriate.
  • Investigate failures and work with engineers to identify root causes.
  • Ensure bugs are reproducible, properly documented, prioritized, and followed through to resolution.
  • Participate in code reviews and feature planning from a quality perspective.
  • Help establish QA standards, processes, tooling, and best practices across the engineering organization.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

This is the most important part.

We want someone who is smart, technically strong, curious, and difficult to fool.

You naturally ask:

“What happens if the user does this?”

And then you actually test it.

You don't just test whether a feature works.

You test how it can fail.

You understand that excellent QA is not about finding the most bugs. It is about preventing bad software from reaching users.

You should be someone who:

  • Can understand a complex product quickly.
  • Can look at a feature and immediately identify potential failure points.
  • Thinks beyond the happy path.
  • Has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Is technically strong enough to understand how the application works under the hood.
  • Can communicate clearly with developers and product teams.
  • Is comfortable challenging assumptions.
  • Takes ownership rather than waiting for instructions.
  • Is highly detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Can work independently.
  • Learns new technologies quickly.
  • Is genuinely passionate about software quality.

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of professional QA / Quality Engineering experience.
  • Strong experience testing complex web applications.
  • Strong experience with automated testing frameworks and test automation.
  • Strong experience with end-to-end / P2P testing.
  • Experience with unit, integration, API, regression, and functional testing.
  • Strong understanding of software development and web application architecture.
  • Experience testing REST APIs.
  • Experience with browser and cross-platform testing.
  • Experience with databases and validating backend data.
  • Experience working closely with software engineers in an Agile development environment.
  • Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.

Marketplace Experience Is Highly Preferred

Previous experience testing marketplaces is a major advantage.

We particularly want someone who has worked on products involving multiple parties and complex user journeys, such as:

  • Buyer / seller marketplaces
  • B2B marketplaces
  • E-commerce platforms
  • Multi-vendor platforms
  • P2P platforms
  • Platforms with multiple user roles
  • Payment or transaction workflows
  • Listing and inventory systems
  • Search and filtering systems
  • Messaging and notification systems

You should understand that marketplace QA is fundamentally different from testing a simple website.

A single action can affect multiple users, workflows, permissions, notifications, databases, and business rules.

Technical Skills

Strong experience with several of the following:

  • Playwright / Cypress / Selenium
  • Jest / Vitest or equivalent unit testing frameworks
  • API testing
  • Postman / similar API tooling
  • JavaScript / TypeScript or another programming language
  • SQL and database testing
  • Git
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Automated regression testing
  • Browser automation
  • Performance testing
  • Test reporting and monitoring

Experience with modern web technologies and architectures is highly desirable.

Bonus Points

You will stand out if you have experience with:

  • Marketplace platforms
  • E-commerce
  • Payments
  • Microservices
  • Event-driven architectures
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • AWS
  • Docker
  • CI/CD automation
  • Performance and load testing
  • Security testing
  • AI-powered products
  • Data-heavy platforms
  • Testing highly dynamic applications

What Success Looks Like

Within your first few months, we want you to have:

  • Built a clear QA strategy for Robot24.
  • Identified critical gaps in our existing testing.
  • Established robust automated regression coverage.
  • Improved our end-to-end testing.
  • Introduced stronger API and integration testing.
  • Helped developers improve unit and integration coverage.
  • Identified important edge cases before they become production issues.
  • Created a reliable process for validating every major release.

Ultimately, your goal is simple:

When we release something to our users, we should be confident that it works.

Why Join Robot24?

You will have a significant impact on products that are being built from the ground up.

You won't be joining an organization where QA means clicking through a checklist.

You will have the opportunity to define how quality engineering is done across the Robot24 platform, work directly with engineering and product leadership, and build an automated QA infrastructure capable of supporting a rapidly growing technology platform.

If you are the kind of QA engineer who enjoys breaking systems, understanding how they work, automating everything that makes sense, and building products that users can trust, we want to hear from you.
