As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn’t changed — we’re here to stop breaches, and we’ve redefined modern security with the world’s most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We’re also a mission-driven company. We cultivate a culture that gives every CrowdStriker both the flexibility and autonomy to own their careers. We’re always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced QA/Operations Engineer to join our software interoperability lab team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and owning test infrastructure and owning test execution. This includes analyzing test results, responding to alerts from our monitoring systems, escalating issues, managing system OS image creation, managing 3rd party applications and the reimaging of endpoints. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in environment troubleshooting, building and owning test environments, and ensuring comprehensive coverage of our product’s interactions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Investigate and troubleshoot failures of test cases or crashes of our own products, or the applications we are exercising. Trace root causes to application compatibility issues vs. environment issues with our own test framework.
  • Analyze application and environment problems and work with engineers to resolve issues.
  • Escalate failures to product development teams if issues are reproducible and can be traced to our own software.
  • Troubleshoot alerts from our lab monitoring system, remediating outages as needed.
  • Remediate our endpoint systems ensuring maximum uptime of our test environment.
  • Research software needs and test plans.
  • Administer our lab machines consisting of both physical hardware and virtual machines, including:
  • Creating golden images of operating system configurations combined with desktop applications and server software.
  • Updating of golden images as needed, i.e. higher patch levels, lower patch levels.
  • As needed, run our product test cases manually to perform environment validation.

What You’ll Need:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in manual QA testing, including test case creation, execution, and defect management.
  • Basic understanding of DevOps practices
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tooling (e.g. Terraform/Ansible)
  • Ability to analyze test results, investigate issues, and troubleshoot test failures effectively.
  • Proficiency in using test management tools (e.g., TestRail/Xray) and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment or alone.
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, automation and integration testing.
  • Exposure to CI/CD processes and tools like Jenkins, Git, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Python and shell scripting.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Comfortable working in Windows, Linux and Mac
