The company provides infrastructure services and is involved in the construction of infrastructure projects such as viaducts, flyovers, metros, bridges, pipelines, roads, ports, barrages, oil and gas projects etc Roles and Responsibilities 01 Ensuring mobilization of the Quality Function Identification of material and lab equipment required for the purpose of quality testing and control. Undertaking routine / periodic testing and inspection of material and end-product quality Scheduling Quality Check (QC) activities on a day-to-day basis. Executing quality testing and Inspections as per Inspection and Test Plan (ITP). Scheduling and coordinating for external quality tests (client). Inspection and testing of procured material at stores to ensure that the incoming material meets quality standards. Evaluation & acceptance of test results. Ensuring maintenance and timely calibration of laboratory and testing equipment. Statistical analysis of test results. Detecting non-conformances and disposal of the same during & after the construction operation. Supervising the site execution works and testing materials / products. Maintaining the documents of inspection. Specialized Roles and Responsibilities for Marine & Industrial Projects Checking all quality parameters of projects involving the construction of Marine Jetties, Berths, Breakwater, LNG Tanks, Harbors, Quay Wall, Material Handling, Industrial Structures and Green Energy Projects. Roles and Responsibilities 02 Undertaking role of Quality Assurance Establishing quality requirements and project quality plans. Establishing a plan for routine inspection (Internal/ External) and testing of material (ITP). Detailed analysis of Bill of Quantities (BOQs) to identify major activity segments jointly with Works Manager/Section In-charge. Ensuring adherence to AFCONS internal quality standards. Regular analysis of concrete produced, ensuring adherence to specifications. Providing inputs in product design Providing inputs in the designing of material as per quality specifications. Developing mix design for all concrete structures. Analyzing alternative/ new materials identifying areas of cost reduction within specifications. Ensuring Role Clarity, Targets, KRA’s are set and discussed with immediate superior. Striving for excelling Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities on the given job roles for completions of assigned tasks. Charting out the career development path in consultation with immediate superior Key Objective of the Job Position To measure the quality of the material and the end product as against the prescribed technical specifications for Quality Check (QC). Ensuring adherence to the quality standards and procedures outlined in the contract specifications and providing inputs in the design of products relating to quality. Education Qualifications Educational Essential: BE/B-Tech- Civil  Educational Desirable: ME/M-Tech- Civil    Computer Software Proficiency MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point Experience Range Overall, 5 to 10 years of exposure in Quality Control function of projects involving the construction of Marine Jetties, Berths, Breakwater, LNG Tanks, Harbors, Quay Wall, Material Handling, Industrial Structures and Green Energy Projects.Work Environment Mostly spending time at Quality Control Labs, Batching Plants and visiting site to ascertain if the required quality parameters are matching the specifications. May need to work extra hours to ensure that the projects meet their deadlines. Dealing & convincing all types of people & clients. Maintaining a high-level quality standard at work site. Maintaining a high level of social contact.
Responsibilities
The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of materials and end products against technical specifications, conducting inspections, and maintaining quality standards throughout construction projects. They also provide inputs in product design and engage in routine inspections and testing.
