Job Description The QA/QC Inspector will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and ensuring that all construction materials, workmanship, and site activities comply with project specifications, international standards, and approved quality procedures. The role requires strong technical knowledge in materials engineering, construction quality control, and site inspection processes. Key Responsibilities 1. Material Quality Control Review and verify all material submittals, datasheets, technical specifications, and compliance certificates. Inspect delivered materials to ensure they meet approved specifications and quality standards. Coordinate with suppliers, laboratories, and contractors for material testing (concrete, steel, asphalt, soil, coatings, etc.). Witness and verify material sampling and testing activities as per project ITP (Inspection & Test Plan). Maintain material tracking logs and ensure traceability for all materials used on site. 2. Site Inspection & Quality Assurance Conduct daily inspections for civil, structural, architectural, and material-related works. Ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, and industry standards (ASTM, BS, ACI, ISO, etc.). Review contractor’s method statements, ITPs, and quality control procedures. Monitor workmanship and report any deviations or non-conformities. Participate in inspections with the client, consultant, and contractor teams. 3. Documentation & Reporting Prepare inspection reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), SORs (Site Observation Reports), and corrective action reports. Maintain updated QA/QC logs including inspection requests (IRs), checklists, and test reports. Review and update project quality documentation as required (QCPs, ITPs, SOPs). Ensure all quality documents are properly controlled, recorded, and archived. 4. Coordination & Communication Liaise with project engineers, contractors, and laboratory technicians to resolve quality issues. Participate in quality meetings and discuss material- or workmanship-related concerns. Support the QA/QC Manager in implementing the project’s Quality Management System (QMS). Provide technical guidance to site teams regarding material properties, tests, and compliance requirements. 5. Compliance & Safety Ensure all inspection activities follow safety protocols and site HSE requirements. Verify that all works comply with local codes, project QA standards, and contractual obligations. Qualifications Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 7 years of experience in QA/QC inspection within construction or engineering projects. Strong knowledge of material testing standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, ISO). Familiarity with construction quality procedures, ITPs, and site inspections. Experience with third-party laboratories and material certification processes. Good command of QA/QC documentation and reporting systems. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Certifications such as ISO 9001, QA/QC training, or materials testing certifications are a plus.
