Responsibilities

PURPOSE/ROLE:

The primary role of the QC Inspector is to ensure that the approved operating procedures of Worley Field Services are fully implemented by fabrication managers, supervisors, and workforce at the Armstrong Street facilities and on client job sites where WFS are active. The QC Inspector will be required to offer expert skills and knowledge during the development of generic and specific inspection and test plans and support a positive culture of continuous improvement

PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performing front end surveillance inspection of product during manufacture and installation. Inspections to include review of pertinent documentation
  • Attending specific inspections as marked in Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Selection and identification of welds required to be examined and liaising with sub-contractor to ensure requested NDT is performed.
  • Carrying out specific coating inspections as annotated in relevant inspection and test plans (ITPs)
  • Ensuring inspection and test plans are complied with and liaising with client representatives to ensure attendance at nominated intervention points
  • Generation and review of all manufacturing inspection and test records and compilation of associated Manufacturing Record Books (MRB)
  • Review of all inspection and test reports provided by third parties
  • Assisting the Senior Inspector in managing welding and welder qualifications
  • Advising the Senior QC Inspector / Quality Lead where suspected non-conformance is observed and assisting in development of corrective and preventative measures.
  • Gathering objective evidence to support weekly / monthly quality report
  • Carrying out regular surveillance assessments as requested by the Senior QC Inspector
  • Any other tasks deemed appropriate by the business and within competence skills of the individual.
