As a QA/QC Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that the materials, processes, and final products meet the required quality standards. You will play a vital role in monitoring, inspecting, and testing the steel fabrication processes to ensure compliance with both internal and external standards, including industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections and tests on materials, welds, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of fabricated steel components, ensuring accuracy and compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and management teams to address any quality issues and resolve them promptly.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures, standards, and protocols.
• Monitor and verify welding processes, including reviewing weld maps, conducting non-destructive testing (NDT), and ensuring proper welding techniques are followed.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations on-site and participate in safety audits as required.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure proper manufacturing processes.
• Assist in the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment and tools.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and recommendations for process enhancements.
• Liaise with clients and external auditors for inspections and quality assessments.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. (Relevant certifications in Quality Assurance/Control is an added advantage).
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in QA/QC within a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Certification is a must (or equivalent).
• Familiarity with quality control techniques, standards, and testing methods in steel fabrication.
• Strong understanding of welding standards (e.g., ASME, AWS) and NDT processes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to use various measuring and testing instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, weld gauges).
• Knowledge of local and international quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASTM).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Certification in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Experience with non-destructive testing methods (e.g., ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.

Working Hours:

• 5.5-day workweek (Monday to Saturday).
• Occasional overtime and site visits may be required based on project needs.
