Furlani Foods is seeking a(n) Quality Assurance Specialist. The QA Specialist’s primary responsibilities will be to perform the Food Safety pre-requisite programs addressing biological hazards. The person will conduct and coordinate the facility’s environmental testing, clean equipment verification, and potable and rinse water testing. This will include internal testing and plating as well as preparing and shipping samples. This position will assist with the updating, revision, and execution of the SQF and other customer and regulatory programs. Key Responsibilities: · Responsible for the facility’s environmental testing as part of the Environmental Monitoring Program. · Collect samples for environmental testing, clean equipment verification, water sampling, and any other potential food safety biological hazards within the plant. · Document findings and corrective and preventative actions to comply with regulatory requirements. · Participate in third-party audits and perform Internal audits of plant policies and procedures. Track and trend plant results to eliminate root causes. · Support the assessment and management of the Food Safety Plan (HARPC) and SQF program. Requirements Qualifications: Previous experience in food manufacturing is required. This position requires minimum a High School diploma and minimum of one year of Food Quality Experience. Bachelor’s degree in science or related field is preferred. Must have good mathematical knowledge. Statistical skills are highly desirable. Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Solid problem solving and decision-making skills, sense of urgency, attention to detail, organization, and ability to execute multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines.
