McLane Classic Foods is a premier custom kettle cooked food products company based in Burleson, Texas. Specializing in custom product development, we produce a wide range of kettle cooked recipes for our regional and national chain restaurant partners. Our capabilities include an array of kettle cooked food products including soups, sauces, side dishes and dips. We have a great opportunity for a talented QA Technician - 2nd Shift to join the team!
Scheduled: 3:00pm - 11:30pm (or until production is complete) or 5:00pm - 2:00am (or until production is complete) - Alternating scheduled will occur (must be able to work shift assigned)

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be able to stand, bend and lift for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in a cool to freezer environment (32°F to -40°F) during an 8–10-hour shift.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 70lbs. from ground level to height of 4’.
  • Intermediate math, literacy and computer skills required (English).
  • Allergen & HACCP training required. (Chemical training required if handling sanitation chemicals)

Responsibilities

Employee will be responsible for verifying/auditing completed products/documentation from each department.

  • Pre-op/ Changeover inspection including swabbing before or after sanitation.
  • Complete and submit micro and swab forms to the lab.
  • Conduct, assemble and report data for product testing requirements.
  • Perform HACCP/Quality checks as required and document results.
  • Ensure plant personnel are following GMP/HACCP/ Food Safety Programs/Allergen and other pre-requisite programs in accordance to internal, regulatory and BRC requirements.
  • Collect product samples for further analysis or submittal to the lab.
  • Calibrate lab equipment (thermometers, pH meter, salt titrator, brix, hygiena machine, etc.).
  • Complete necessary documentation for QA functions.
  • Enter data accurately into computer database.
  • Place any non-conforming product under QA hold as needed or directed.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance employees as needed to ensure Food Safety and Quality is maintained.
  • Perform weekly and monthly facility inspections.
  • Collect water monthly samples.
  • Communicate information and escalate concerns adequately to QA Coordinator and Manager.
  • Adhere to plant GMPs and safety guidelines.
