Thanet Earth is one of the largest employers in East Kent.
We want to make sure we have the right people in place to support our growth and we are now looking for a bright and enthusiastic QA Section Leader (Quality) to join our QA team based at Thanet Earth in Paddock Wood, Kent.

Responsibilities include:

  • With QA Management co-ordinate the QA team’s daily activities to ensure optimum resource planning and a fully motivated competent workforce.
  • Review produce against quality specifications, check and record transport conditions and report any non-compliance issues.
  • Ensure produce meets Thanet Earth specifications by assessing weights, colours, and defects, recording results in the ERP system, reporting issues, and rejecting unacceptable goods upon arrival.
  • Assist in preparation of site, staff and systems for audits and visits. .

Key skills and knowledge:

  • Ability to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a close-knit team to deliver accurate and thorough QA services in the Thanet Earth business.
  • Ability to understand and interpret specification and use as a basis for routine decision making and actions.
  • A determined and flexible outlook, able to communicate with confidence at all levels both internally and externally.
  • At least one year’s prior experience within a quality related function in fresh produce.
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports.

A day in the life…….
“Working closely with the production team, you will support with co-ordination of stock for processing orders ensuring quality standards are achieved providing feedback about the integrity and condition of finished products. You will actively engage in problem solving and solution finding, conducting initial traceability and completing investigations into incidents following customer rejections. With QA management you will develop, mentor and train QA team members to a high standard so they are proficient in all aspects of their role in order to create and maintain a Total Quality Management culture.”
Working hours:
You will work a 40 hour week over 5 days.
