We’re looking for an outstanding QA Tester, who wants to contribute to demanding and exciting digital services for the UK Government. Be part of changing the face of public services with the potential to dramatically transform the future of millions of people.
As a QA Tester you will ensure that changes bound for the user’s desktop are rigorously tested and that UAT is conducted efficiently and effectively.
The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with others, actively seek input from colleagues and value a multidisciplinary team over hierarchy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role will be based in the Digital Workspaces Test team, where changes that are bound for the user’s desktop are rigorously tested to ensure that the deployment process works correctly, accompanying communications/documentation are accurate and the software functions as expected. Working with the business users to ensure that User Acceptance Testing is conducted efficiently and effectively is also a key part of the team’s remit.

As a QA Tester, you will work alongside other QA Testers to;

  • Triage and escalate defects to technical colleagues for resolution
  • Maintain relationships and communicate updates to business users
  • Maintain full traceability of defects, tests and requirements
  • Communicate with other teams and share knowledge and lessons learned
  • Collaborate with other teams in the Software Development Lifecycle to drive solutions
  • Work closely with Release, Product and Project teams to ensure testing is efficient and effective
  • Manage access to test tools using the principle of least privilege

We are looking for passionate and innovative people to join our team and help to shape our vision and deliver real value to the public sector.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account.
