Description

WHO IS SKYBOX LABS?

Recognized as one of BC’s Top Employers (2025), SkyBox Labs is a game development studio that works on some of the world’s most iconic games. The studio is currently co-developing Halo Infinite, working on projects in the Minecraft universe, supporting the dev team at Bungie on Destiny, supporting development of Fallout 76, and working on original IP. Since our inception in 2011, SkyBox Labs has evolved from a group of 8 people to a team of over 250+ Engineers, Artists, Animators, Designers, Producers, and more! Join us in our Burnaby studio, or have the opportunity to work remotely within Canada for certain designated projects.
Skybox Labs is looking for a QA Tester to join our Minecraft team on a 12-14 month contract to cover a maternity leave. This is a great opportunity to work on one of the biggest game franchises in the world in a close-knit, collaborative team environment. If you have at least one year of experience in game testing (ideally on mobile platforms) and thrive in a structured yet dynamic game dev environment, we’d love to hear from you!
Please Note: This is a flexible hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC offices. Only local candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Test Minecraft across iOS, Android, and Windows platforms, ensuring builds meet quality standards
  • Log and track bugs with clear, detailed reports
  • Execute test plans provided by the Senior QA Tester (no test plan writing required)
  • Perform scripted, unscripted, and ad-hoc testing on daily builds
  • Collaborate with developers and external teams to gather builds, check requests, and ensure smooth testing workflows
  • Adapt to occasional on-the-fly requests while handling daily, repetitive build checks
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing workflows and proactively share insights
