Quality Control Chemist Location: San Diego, CA | Employment Type:Full-Time Help ensure the quality behind life-changing peptide therapeutics. PolyPeptide Laboratories is seeking a Quality Control Chemist to join our dynamic analytical team. In this role, you’ll perform essential testing that ensures the purity, safety, and consistency of our peptide products — directly supporting global customers and advancing breakthrough therapies. If you’re detail-oriented, science-driven, and excited to grow in a fast-paced GMP environment, this role is for you. What You’ll Be Doing Perform analytical testing on raw materials, intermediates, in-process samples, and finished products Work with key instruments including HPLC/UPLC, GC, MS, FTIR, Karl Fischer, elemental analysis, polarimetry, and more Prepare samples and solutions following established methodologies and validated protocols Calibrate lab equipment and perform basic troubleshooting Document all testing in accordance with GMP and data-integrity requirements Identify potential quality issues and support corrective actions Contribute to SOP updates and improvements in QC workflows Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready laboratory What You Bring Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or closely related field 1+ year of experience in a GMP pharmaceutical or biotechnology laboratory Technical Strengths Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (HPLC/UPLC required; GC, MS, FTIR, KF, and others preferred) Strong documentation skills and Microsoft Office proficiency Soft Skills Exceptional attention to detail and strong technical writing ability Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively Why PolyPeptide?
