QC Chemist
Salary: 28 K (neg.)
Our client is seeking to recruit an experienced QC Chemist with some supervisory experience to join their Quality Control department.
The ideal candidate will hold a BSc in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a QC laboratory environment. Some experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within QC is also preferable.

Duties

  • Work closely with the Production Team to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Perform quality inspections of incoming goods.
  • Conduct quality control checks on finished products.
  • Carry out chemical analysis of raw materials and product concentrates.
  • Ensure all quality-related documentation, such as Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), is completed accurately and within deadlines.
  • Report quality control issues to the Production and Quality Assurance teams.
  • Ensure the segregation of non-conforming items, and where appropriate, recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Calibrate, verify, and monitor measuring devices in a laboratory setting.
  • Manage team absences, including holidays and sickness, using the Cascade system.
  • Conduct Performance and Development Reviews (PDRs).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Ideally, prior experience in managing and motivating a team.
  • Proven experience working in a QC laboratory.
  • Preferably knowledgeable in testing packaging, componentry, raw materials, and blend analysis prior to production, along with regular in-line sampling of finished products.
  • Familiar with producing Certificates of Analysis and Certificates of Conformance.
  • Highly organized with a meticulous approach to work.

    Pay: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
