Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated, detail-driven, and quality-focused individual to join our team as a QC Engineer (Civil Contracting). Key Responsibilities – Civil Construction Quality Control and Compliance Oversee and implement project quality assurance procedures for civil contracting projects, ensuring all work meets regulatory standards, client specifications, and approved quality plans. Conduct site inspections and technical audits for structural, architectural, and finishing works, verifying compliance with approved drawings, materials, and workmanship standards. Prepare and review inspection requests (IRs), method statements, ITPs, checklists, NCRs, and quality reports in accordance with contract and project requirements. Monitor material deliveries, perform material inspections, and ensure use of approved materials as per specification and standards. Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality documentation and as-built records for handing over and project close-out. Coordinate with site engineers, construction managers, subcontractors, and consultants to carry out inspections and promptly rectify any deficiencies or non-conformities. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions in response to quality non-conformance reports, ensuring continual quality improvement. Ensure that site activities adhere to approved health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policy and best practices at all times. Liaise with external auditors, clients, and authorities for inspections and project quality reviews as required. Stay current with latest standards, technology, and legislation applicable to civil construction quality control and site engineering. Required Skills – Site Quality Assurance and Civil Engineering Standards Solid grounding in civil construction techniques, quality management systems, and inspection methodology. Proven ability to interpret technical construction drawings, specifications, and contracts documenation. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly report and escalate quality issues within diverse teams and to project stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills, able to manage priorities efficiently and maintain detailed records in a high-paced site environment. Keen attention to detail and a commitment to upholding safety, compliance, and workmanship quality throughout all project phases. Proactive mindset for problem-solving; skilled in identifying issues, analysing root causes, and implementing robust solutions. Qualifications & Experience – Civil Engineering and Quality Control Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field. Minimum of3 years’ experience in a quality control or site engineering role within the civil contracting or construction sector. Strong knowledge of applicable construction codes, standards, and quality assurance practices (such as BS, EN, ASTM, or equivalent regional standards). Experience in maintaining QA/QC documentation, handling ITPs, method statements, and closing out NCRs. IT literacy, with proficiency in MS Office and quality management software.
