Description Position Title: Quality Inspector I (Dimensional and NDE) Location: 3701 Holmes Road, Houston, TX 77051 Department: Quality Control Reports To: Director of Quality Control Job Summary: Piping Technology & Products, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quality Inspector (Dimensional and NDE) to perform visual and dimensional inspections, conduct Penetrant Testing (PT) on welds. This is a full-time, hourly, on-site position located at 3701 Holmes Road, Houston, TX 77051. Candidates should ensure that they are within a commutable distance to our facility before applying. Safety is a key component to all of our positions and we expect our leaders to uphold the highest safety standards and practices at all times. This role requires a professional level of both written and verbal communication. Warehouse and manufacturing experience is preferred for this position. Candidates must be able to read blueprints in English. Please Note: Position is inspector of ASME pressure welded parts, pipes, and bellows. Familiarity with welding and fabrication of Pressure Vessels preferred. Key Responsibilities: The following education, experience and knowledge are preferred for this position: Experience with PT, UT, RT, MT, PMI. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Inspector. Experience as a fitter, welder or fabricator helpful. General knowledge of AMSE and AWS codes, welding, fabrication and inspection processes. Must be able to comprehend technical information, in English, both verbal and written. Must have clear verbal and writing skills with fluency for the responsibilities assigned. · Work Environment/Physical Demands Working conditions are 5-10% in an office environment and 90-95% in a shop/yard environment, as well as exposure to industrial machinery, welding and grinding Must be able to work overtime and half day Saturday. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on incoming, in-process, and finished products. Verify conformance with ASME, ISO, and company-specific quality standards. Conduct basic weld inspections under supervision of CWI, material verification, and other quality-related checks. Review and interpret drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications. Document and report non-conformities, deviations, and corrective actions. Work closely with production teams to ensure compliance with quality standards. Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges. Maintain accurate inspection records and reports. Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives with QA team Ensure adherence to safety and company procedures. Qualifications & Skills: Experience: Minimum 2-5 years in Quality Control, preferably in manufacturing, fabrication, or ASME-regulated environments. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in QC, welding, or manufacturing are a plus. Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with ASME, ISO, API, or equivalent quality standards. Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and engineering documents. Tools & Equipment: Experience using calipers, micrometers, Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility: Willingness to work night shifts/weekends, if required. Certifications (Preferred): AWS-CWI, ASNT Level II, or similar QA/QC certifications.
