JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general direction, the Quality Control Inspector will test and inspect products at various stages of the production process, including First Articles, compile and evaluate data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & SKILLSETS:
High School Diploma or GED with (secondary education a plus)
1 to 3 years of experience in Quality Control in manufacturing environment
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee must:
Be able to lift a maximum of 35 pounds
Be able to work 8 - 12 hours shifts
Perform repetitive tasks
Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk
Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist and balance; sometimes in awkward or tight spaces
Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus with attention to detail
Ability to visually detect color differences
PPE Requirements: Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (provided) including;
Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
Safety Glasses
Bump Caps
Protective Gloves; when performing certain tasks
Hearing Protection; when required
Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks
Work Environment: Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment.
Ambient Air Temperatures with occasional short periods in cold or hot temps
Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors (within acceptable OSHA limits)
May include occasional mechanical, electrical, chemical

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Maintains a safe and clean work environment by following established procedures and work instructions
Reviews production schedules and plans daily activities needed to perform inspections and testing to ensure product quality standards are met
Reviews and audits production process for conformance to quality standards, set up sheets, and product specifications
Meets with Quality management to determine acceptability of product (when clarification is needed)
Records test data and notify production when out-of-specification conditions exist
Nonconforms material when products are out of specification
Evaluates data and writes simple reports to verify or indicate deviations from existing standards
Performs computer data entry
Sets-up test equipment for Quality and Production testing
Performs sample preparation and verify production data
Communicates changes to procedures and follows up on actions related to customer complaints
Provides input for the development of test procedures and training to production employees where applicable.
Maintains and retains sample storage
Reviews Certificate of Analysis data for accuracy
Assists in special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications:Required Education & Skillsets:
Driver’s license in good standing (vehicle required)
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook
Attention to detail
Ability to travel on campus between buildings
Ability to use a computer; (e.g. manufacturing software, e-mail, Internet)
Ability to follow documented procedures and keep accurate records
Ability to prioritize tasks under minimal guidance based on production needs
Ability to read and interpret documents (e.g. safety rules, operating or procedure manuals
Ability to use measuring devices such as meters, gauges, calipers, and other measuring/test equipment
Ability to generate basic reports and email correspondence
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals (with calculator)
Ability to calculate percentages, area, circumference, and volume (with calculator)
Ability to read a ruler/tape measure and understand measurements in fractions and decimals
Ability to communicate effectively with workers, contractors, supervisors and leaders
