SUMMARY:
The QC Lab Technician is responsible for the dimensional verification to customer & business requirements.
The QC Lab’s internal department functions include inspection and testing of materials received, in-process
products and finished products to ensure conformance with customer specifications.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Performs inspection and testing / auditing activities to ensure continuous product assurance of product.
- Checks dimensions on products (such as, but not limited to: hole locations, square ness, surface relationships, recesses, contours and similar characteristics.
- Maybe required to perform full dimensional layouts of ISIR parts leading to PPAP submission.
- Perform inspections using precision tools with exacting tolerances requiring precise workmanship.
- Equipment use will include calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, video optical equipment, CMM, ohmmeters, indicators and height gages.
- Independent blueprint interpretation including a working knowledge of GD&T interpretation.
- Notifies Manufacturing, Tooling and Engineering as appropriate to resolve issues such as non-conformances and
- trends in inspection data.
- Assists in identifying and isolating nonconforming product.
- Maintains accurate and up to date Quality records and retained samples.
- Assists in associate training in product testing and inspection as well as established quality system procedures.
- Investigating customer, as well as internal complaints regarding Quality.
- Visual inspection of product to established criteria, both standard for molding and part specific.
- Work overtime and shift work as required.
- Any other tasks as assigned.

- (Testing prior to 89th day is acceptable, but for continued employment can not exceed 90 days after job award)

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Required
- One-year related manufacturing experience.
- Two years quality technician level experience
- Plastic injection molding industry preferred.
- Understanding of quality systems preferred.
Preferred
- Completion of Molding Operator Level B
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Required
Candidate must be able to communicate effectively, including reading and writing, in English.
- Follow verbal and written instructions given in English.
- Read manufacturing instructions including packaging requirements of all products according to the control plan.
- Maintain all appropriate records, including production totals, maintenance performed, inventory usage, etc.
- Proper documentation of all quality related inspections per Red Book.
Probationary Period (3 months):
Comprehension of facility documentation:
- Red Book (Control Plans, FMEA’s, Flow Charts, Revision History, Work Instructions, Inspection Records)
- Black Book (Tool History, Production Totals, etc.)
- As well as any common facility practices for production associates as defined /outlined in Employee Handbook.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Required
