POSITION SUMMARY

The QC Lab Technician at Pioneer Athletics is responsible for conducting quality control tests and inspections on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and adherence to safety and quality protocols. The QC Lab Technician works closely with the QC Chemist and other team members to ensure product quality and consistency.

RELEVANT SKILLS

  • Knowledge of quality control processes and laboratory procedures.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools and instruments for pH, viscosity, and color adjustments.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data accurately.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory software and ERP systems (Acumatica experience is a plus).
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in a laboratory or manufacturing quality control environment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift and move containers weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during laboratory work.
  • Manual dexterity for handling laboratory instruments and samples.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions when accessing production areas.
  • Visual acuity to perform precise measurements.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in investigating and resolving quality issues.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration is up to date.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to ensure consistent product quality.
  • QC of all paint batches (including determining adjustments for pH and viscosity).
  • Color check and adjustment of color.
  • Maintain accurate QC records in Acumatica and update QC groups as needed.
  • Owner of retains – Ensure retains are properly labelled and put away.
  • Owner of batch drawdowns – Ensure drawdowns are properly labelled and filed away.
  • Assist Chemists with QC of the following: Aerosols, Colorant, Latex, All other incoming raw materials, Monthly adhoc.
  • Assist with spray programs.
  • Ensuring QC SOP’s are reviewed and up to date.
