JOB REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or similar applied science required
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in laboratory testing environment, including at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of laboratory testing processes
  • Expertise in laboratory workflows, covering test initiation, processing, and reporting, as well as resolving equipment issues
  • Hands-on experience with organic and inorganic analytical testing, specifically including techniques like ICP, ICP-MS and XRF
  • Dynamic, motivated, positive outlook, with a “can-do” attitude to be able to work & motivate others in a fast-paced operation environment
  • Strong sense of urgency & the ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 17034.
  • Bilingual French and English (written and spoken).
  • Good organizational skills.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and plan chemistry QC activities in accordance with established priorities and deadlines.
  • Establish, maintain, and ensure compliance with laboratory documents (procedures, instructions, specifications, methods, etc.).
  • Approve certificates of analysis and other laboratory documents, as delegated by the QA Manager.
  • Optimally manage reagents, standards, and consumables.
  • Provide training and supervision to department members within the scope of their duties.
  • Participate in the performance evaluation of team members.
  • Lead working groups or projects to develop new analytical methods or optimize existing methods.
  • Coordinate and plan chemistry QC activities in accordance with established priorities and deadlines.
  • Lead investigations related to non-compliant or out-of-trend.
