Description Job Summary: Maintains quality standards by leading QC Technicians on the production floor and performing designated higher level tasks during their shift. Responsibilities of the Position: Inspects and approves all line clearances, dry cleans, and full sanitations during their shift. Trains new QC Technicians to perform hourly QC checks, CCP verifications, receiving, and all other aspects of the QC Technician’s job. Leads QC Technicians on their shift. Approves and helps build finished good lot codes at each line. Assists QC Technicians with coding when needed. Stops production line when food safety and/or product quality is threatened. Approves incoming materials or products by confirming specifications for defect, weight, color and packaging integrity, rejecting or returning unacceptable materials; Approves in-process production by verifying and recording (via a tablet) the following information: Bill of Materials (BOM) Allergens/Labeling LOT Numbers Date Codes Weight Checks Specified dimensions as required. Performs routine inspections such as metal detector verifications, check weigher verifications and cleaning verification (ATP Swabs) as needed. Selects products for periodic testing at specified stages in production process and tests for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical characteristics. Enforces the Food Safety Policy regarding Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Traceability and Hold Procedure. Understands the importance of notifying the Production Department when product is out of specification; Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; cooperation and teamwork as well as complying with legal regulations. Attends selected meetings and trainings as required. Perform other duties as assigned by Management. Requirements Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Computer literacy with tablets (such as iPads or other touch screen technology) General math skills Ability to read and write English. Education and Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and 2-3 years related food quality experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working Conditions: Ability to work between an office setting and warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees. Physical Requirements Operate standard office equipment. Reach with hands and arms. Lift up to 35 pounds
