Job purpose:
To carry out raw material product testing and production inspection tasks to ensure the ongoing quality of the finished product.
To interface with other departments to ensure a timely approval of raw materials.
To ensure that relevant documentation, in the form of procedures and specifications are followed to guarantee compliance with ISO 9001:2015/ ISO22000:2018 and Health & Safety.
Principal Accountabilities:
- To carry out inspection on receiving raw materials/ labels to ensure that the specifications are met and the quality of VMS products is maintained.
- To work with other Departments to ensure timely release of raw material/ label items.
-To carry out inspection on goods going out to customers.
- To assist in-process inspection testing, as required, to ensure the timely approval of products.
- To work with the Purchasing/ Logistics during the introduction of new products to ensure the timely introduction of appropriate inspection strategies for raw material/ label items.
- To carry out calibration on balances on a daily basis.
- To work with external customers for the introduction of new product developments and to work with internal departments.
- To continuous improve process and documentation and assist with external audits.
- To complete and maintain the appropriate documentation relating to the testing activities, in accordance with the necessary regulations.
- To follow and promote Company, HS&E and Quality standards to enable the site to achieve and maintain excellent results.
- To carry out such further tasks that may be delegated to me by my immediate manager.
Internal and External Relationships
This function involves close working relationship with the following departments: Warehouse/ Stores department, Quality Control/ Assurance, Production and Process Development to ensure that the quality of VMS products is maintained.
This position reports to the Quality Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational level: a minimum of one A level or equivalent in a science based discipline, preferably Chemistry.
- OR: 2 years relevant industrial experience.
- Special Aptitudes: mechanical, manual dexterity, facility in use of words and figures; and computer literacy.
- Mechanical and manual dexterity.
- Good numerical skills and Computer literacy would be an advantage.
- Ability to read and follow written procedures.
