Software & Controls Engineer at QED Technologies Europe Location: Delft Hours: 32–40 per week Education Level: Master’s degree (WO) At QED Technologies Europe, you will work on some of the most advanced precision-engineering systems in the world. As a Software & Controls Engineer, you contribute directly to the real-time control software that drives our high-end optical measurement machines. Within our small, international, and highly skilled engineering team, you have the freedom to explore, experiment, and shape solutions that push the boundaries of precision technology.    What you will do As part of the Software & Controls team within the Development & Engineering department, you work closely with mechatronics and software engineers to develop high-quality software that enables customers to fully leverage the capabilities of our machines.    Your key responsibilities: * Develop real-time control software and contribute to all layers of the software stack * Work in multidisciplinary sprints with mechatronics, electronics, and software engineers * Support production and installation teams by troubleshooting software and electronics issues * Assist the customer support team with complex issues in the field * Test and validate software directly on real machines — hands-on interaction is part of your daily work * Contribute to continuous improvement of software architecture and development processes  What we offer At QED Technologies Europe, you’ll join an international high-tech environment with short communication lines, a collaborative culture, and plenty of room for personal and professional growth. Your profile includes: * Master’s degree in a technical field (Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related) * 0–5 years of relevant experience (junior/medior level) * Solid knowledge of control theory and real-time systems * Affinity with precision technology and the interplay between hardware and software * Excellent command of English (spoken and written) Nice to have: * Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT and EtherCAT * Strong experience with C# or Java (with WPF experience) * Experience in multidisciplinary environments involving hardware + software * Hands-on mindset — comfortable experimenting and testing on real machines About us QED Technologies Europe (formerly Dutch United Instruments) develops high-end optical measurement equipment used worldwide in semiconductor manufacturing, astronomy, and other advanced applications.
