EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ocupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degrees and certification (e.g., NEBOSH, ISO Lead Auditor) are welcome.
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in QHSE Manager role.
  • Previous experience in creating safety program or changing culture of safety.
  • Previous experience managing a team of direct and indirect reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a good understanding of OSHA, DOT, and Workers’ Comp laws.
  • Must have good knowledge of investigation procedures and root cause analysis.
  • Strong ability with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
  • Strategic thinker with creative and excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Resilient self-starter, who can act independently and learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpretation of data to effectively manage risk.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with site operations, functional leaders and external clients and vendors.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and a strong commitment to business ethics.
Responsibilities

QHSE Strategy and Leadership

  • Develop and execute the QHSE strategy in alignment with the company’s objectives and goals.
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the QHSE team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Engage with management to communicate the importance of QHSE and gain support for initiatives.

Compliance and Regulatory Affairs

  • Monitor and interpret QHSE regulations, ensuring compliance with Newrest, local, regional, and international standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential risks and non-compliance issues.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities and maintain all necessary permits and certifications.

Health and Safety

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Health and Safety policies and programs.
  • Assess and mitigate workplace hazards, and promote a safe working environment for everyone.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.

Quality Management

  • Oversee the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Implement quality assurance processes, ensuring products and services meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Facilitate internal and external quality audits and manage corrective actions.

Environmental Management

  • Develop and implement environmentally sustainable practices to reduce the company’s environmental footprint.
  • Track and report on environmental performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Foster environmental awareness and responsibility across the organization.

Training and Development

  • Conduct QHSE training programs to educate employees on policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure proper training and competency assessment for QHSE team members.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and present QHSE performance reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, make data-driven decisions, and develop action plans.
  • Be diligent, punctual, and reliable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
