Description

We are currently hiring a qualified_ QHSE Officer/Engineer_ to join our team for an upcoming project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or ISO 45001 are highly preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in QHSE roles within the construction or related industries in the UAE or GCC.
  • Experience in auditing, incident investigation, and preparing QHSE documentation.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and emergency response planning.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of QHSE principles, standards, and practices.
  • Familiarity with Abu Dhabi regulatory frameworks, including OSHAD and environmental guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and collaboration.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
  • Proficiency in QHSE management software and Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
  1. Implement and monitor quality management systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  2. Conduct quality inspections and audits to ensure work aligns with project specifications and standards.
  3. Identify non-conformities, initiate corrective actions, and follow up to ensure resolution.
  4. Assist in the preparation and review of method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and quality documentation.
  5. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHAD (Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health System Framework) and other local standards.
  6. Develop and implement health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency response plans.
  7. Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks to ensure a safe work environment.
  8. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend preventive measures.
  9. Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, including waste management, emissions, and environmental impact mitigation.
  10. Monitor environmental conditions on-site and implement measures to minimize pollution and resource wastage.
  11. Conduct environmental audits and prepare reports in line with ISO 14001 standards.
  12. Provide training to employees and contractors on quality, health, safety, and environmental standards and procedures.
  13. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness across all levels of the organization.
  14. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all QHSE activities, inspections, and audits.
  15. Prepare QHSE performance reports, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  16. Liaise with local authorities, certification bodies, and third-party auditors as needed.
  17. Ensure all activities comply with Abu Dhabi regulations, company policies, and international standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  18. Identify and assess potential risks and develop mitigation plans to reduce hazards.
