Job title QSHE Senior Specialist ( Quality systems, Safety, health and Environmental) Department QSHE
Reports to H&S Manager
Position summary: - The Primary responsibilities of the Post Holder will include: Assume responsibility for the day to day running of the HEALTH & SAFETY department, quality management systems and environmental. Responsible for creating, maintaining and improving health and safety standards in the workplace in order to comply with Company Policy, HEALTH & SAFETY Legislation and ISO145001. Along with Quality systems ISO 9001 and Environmental ISO 14001.

Supervisory responsibilities/Position in structure: Health & Safety Officer , Quality Systems Co-ordinator and environmental

Duties/responsibilities

  • To ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations on behalf of the Company
  • To implement, monitor and advise on Health & Safety Management systems, quality management systems and Environmental
  • To develop, co-ordinate, implement and monitor safe working systems and processes
  • To promote a positive Health & Safety culture
  • Implement ISO 450001 via an activity project, continuous monitoring, review and improvement on the standard.
  • To compile and maintain the department Procedures in line with ISO(14001 and 9001)or other legislative requirements as and when identified
  • Responsible for the promotion of quality and environmental systems on a regular basis
  • To manage, develop and implement continual improvement practices and ensure that areas of responsibility operate in a manner that accord with appropriate statutory guidance and policies, procedures.
  • To ensure that data with regards to QSHE (Quality management systems, Health and safety and Environmental) performance is effectively captured and analysed to enable improvement plans to be developed
  • Providing support and guidance with regards technical, legal and other issues as required. Highlight areas where poor practice and/or significant risk have occurred and prepare, in conjunction with line managers, remedial plans.
  • Provide advice and guidance companywide on Health and Safety inclusive of being responsible for outlining safe operational procedures that identify all relevant hazards and accurately assess risks (as highlighted by new process evaluations)
  • Monthly coordination of QSHE via effective and proactive audits internal and external.
  • Effective document management to ensure maintenance and continuous improvements of QSHE systems
  • Investigate and report all accidents to the necessary external bodies as well as liaising internally to suggest corrective actions and improved practices.(HSE & Seiko Epson)
  • Support and Chair Health and Safety Meetings and motivate Health & Safety reps to promote involvement.
  • Ensure regular and concise communication with QSHE utilising all mediums possible – Toolbox talks, core brief, Epson TV etc and assure annual reviews are completed on all related Health & Safety policies.
  • Work with HR in relation to occupational health systems and welfare promotions and
  • Developing preventative and remedial programmes of QSHE
  • Establish and constantly review the Fire evacuation process, to include two annual evacuations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of respective monthly KPI’s assuring accuracy and evident PDCA
  • Ensure ALL reports / Activities are completed to deadline dates
  • Ensure compliance with and adherence to Epson Telford Limited’s - Quality Management System ISO 9001, Environmental Management System 14001 and Occupational Health & Safety Management System ISO 45001 and Policies & Procedures and all statutory legislation associated with those.
  • Ensure responsible waste management through waste segregation.
  • To ensure Compliance with SEC J-Sox regime and Compliance policies.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management, NEBOSH General Certificate and / or diploma.
