QUALIFIED ACCOUNTANT

We are a busy Accountancy Practice who require candidates with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an Accountancy Practice environment.
The ideal candidate should have a high level of numeric accuracy, will have the aptitude to work on their own initiative, and will be ambitious and enthusiastic.
Exceptional written and spoken English is necessary and must have an active ACCA or CPA qualification.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: -

You will be working as part of a team of accountants, with a diverse range of clients.

Your role will involve but is not restricted to;

  • Preparation of financial statements for Limited companies to meet compliance standards.
  • Preparation of Sole trade, Partnership, Income & Expenditure Accounts and Rental Accounts.
  • Preparation of income tax returns, CGT and other tax computations
  • Managing a full client portfolio of bookkeeping and payroll services
  • Preparation of VAT Returns
  • Audit testing and audit file completion
  • Assisting and training junior staff members and reporting to the manager/partners

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to prepare financial statements independently
  • Have a high level of numeric accuracy & attention to detail
  • Be organised with ability to prioritise workload and multi-task
  • Good time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills to facilitate client service
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Complete working knowledge of Surf Accounts Production, SAGE, Xero Accounts and Excel. The ideal candidate should be able to navigate a wide range of accounting packages.
  • Be driven and motivated to succeed

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have an ACCA or CPA qualification or similar
  • Proven experience at senior / semi-senior level in an Accountancy Practice or other relevant role
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines along with the ability to prioritise
  • Excellent background in Accountancy and/or Business Studies
  • Knowledge of current Accounting Standards.
