Our California Active Consulting team in LA County, CA is currently recruiting for a Qualified Behavioral Health Professional (QBHP). The QBHP is primarily responsible for exercising discretion and judgement when coaching and training skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans with family members, caregivers and agency staff. The QBHP will help families and providers build capacity by training them on data collection, certain types of assessments (e.g., stimulus preference assessments), and monitoring of Behavior Support Plans. The QBHP will also assist with crisis de-escalation and afterhours support as needed. The QBHP credential will complement the BCBA-D, BCBA, and BCaBA credentials as an entry-level position that reflects the education and advanced training necessary for the duties of a QBHP. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Provide face-to-face or virtual coaching and training with family members, caregivers, and DSP staff of participating IDD/BH providers. Assist agency staff with development, implementation, and monitoring of Behavior Support Plans (BSP), including training on data collection and fidelity checks. Work with DSPs and their supervisors to ensure all materials/supplies needed for implementation of behavior plans are available. Present graphical summary of effectiveness of BSP to DSPs at meetings. Model positive behavioral supports and respond to emergency situations as trained. Complete Functional Behavioral Assessment Interviews and/or Observations, as assigned by BCBA or Director. Participate during provider wraparound or consultation meetings by reporting assessment results and offering rationale for best practice recommendations in areas of expertise. Provide crisis de-escalation support to teams as required. Complete all documentation as expected in a timely manner. Fulfill all job duties and responsibilities in accordance with BACB standards. Collaborate with and regularly update Director and other team members on individual and provider support activities. Attend all agency, departmental, and client-specific meetings as directed. Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to supervisor or department head. Comply with all organization standards to assure the health, safety, and confidentiality of all individuals. Report to work as scheduled. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication skills. Ability to use discretion and independent judgement. Knowledge and skill to us computer. Skills in behavioral assessments. Skills in behavioral plan development. Ability and skills to train others. Qualifications: Minimum: Be at least 21 years of age. Bachelor's degree in a human or social services related field is required. Registered Behavior Technician in the State of California. Minimum of one-year of experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Valid BLS CPR and Basic First Aid certification. Crisis de-escalation verbal skills and physical management training certificate, i.e., Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI). Maintain required certification and licensure as applicable. Maintain valid driver's license and auto insurance.
