JOB DESCRIPTION – WAREHOUSE FORKLIFT OPERATOR / MATERIAL HANDLER
We are in search of a positive, reliable, motivated, safety conscious, individual to join our Surrey warehouse team. This is a full-time permanent position that offers a competitive compensation package based on applicable work experience, along with career advancement potential. Extended health and life insurance benefits are available upon completion of probationary period. Depending on customer demands some overtime and weekend work may be requested.
The ideal applicant has the following required knowledge, skill and qualifications:
- Forklift experience (valid certification an asset)
- Secondary School Diploma.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- Proficient in English
- Problem solving ability.
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Physically mobile and fit. Able to repetitively lift 55 lbs. and safely move up and down ladders.
- Preference given to applicants with:
- Heavy Equipment Experience Front End Loader experience is an asset.
- WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training
Experience:
- Forklift: 1 year (preferred
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklift in a safe manner to load and unload trucks, and intermodal containers.
- Manual repackaging of bulk materials into super sacks and/or paper bags for resale.
- Participate in daily facility clean up and maintain good housekeeping habits.
- Maintains positive working relationships with customers and coworkers.
- Willingness to assist others on the team as required but be able to work independently as well.
