JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable and hardworking Dental Nurse to join our well-respected team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in delivering high-quality dental services. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong organisational ability, and proficiency in dental software Exact/SOE to manage patient records and appointments effectively.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified Dental Nurse with relevant certification, GDC registration and relevant indemnity in place.
  • Staying up to date with current NHS guidelines and up to date with CPDs.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Effective timekeeping
  • Proficient IT skills for managing electronic patient records and scheduling systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • A compassionate approach towards patient care, ensuring comfort and understanding at all times.
  • At least two years experience as a qualified nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring that the patient is comfortable and informed throughout the process.
  • Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and equipment, adhering to strict Infection control procedures and the HTM 01-05.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and medical histories, using Exact/SOE software.
  • Managing and maintaining appropriate dental materials and stock levels
  • Handling stock orders
  • Communicate effectively with patients.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and follow-up reminders to optimise patient flow within the practice.
  • Support the dental team in maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Support the patient and their colleagues if there is a medical emergency
  • Stay updated with advancements in dental practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • May be required to cover reception / admin duties
  • Expected to maintain effective infection control within clinical area, including brooming and mopping surgery
