THE OPPORTUNITY -

Are you passionate about aviation and eager to share your knowledge with the next generation of Royal Australian Navy and Australian Army pilots? Boeing Defence Australia are seeking experienced Helicopter Qualified Flying Instructors (QFI’s) to join the team.
These Instructor positions will support the Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS), operating the EC135 T2+. The QFI is primarily responsible for the conduct of ab-initio pilot helicopter flying instruction.

These roles are based in Nowra.
As a Qualified Flight Instructor within BDA, you will:

Conduct ab-initio flight instruction on the EC-135 T2+ aircraf

  • tConduct ground instruction, briefings and lecture
  • sOperate Training Aircraft and Training Equipment (live and synthetic devices
  • )Update trainee record
  • sBrief the Pilot Training Officer on trainee progres
  • sMentor trainee
  • sReview trainee progress in ground Training events and assessment
  • sUpdate Aircraft record
  • sMaintain aircrew qualifications and currency requirements in accordance with all relevant Standing Instructions and as amended by Special Flying Instruction
  • sConduct Secondary Missions in support of 723 SQN tasking where requeste
  • dProvide flying supervision to trainee
  • sReview and recommend changes to Training packages and coursewar
  • eProvide support to JHS Winching and Load lifting Training evolution
  • sPerform other duties, as required by the Pilot Training Office
  • rProvide written and verbal pre-briefs and debriefs to student
  • sParticipate in external evaluations (including safety related investigations
  • )Assist the HATS Training Manager as required for BDA related activitie

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Boeing Defence Australia specific site positions will have physical requirements which are applicable. Physical requirements are outlined by the recruitment manager in consultation with the Environment Health & Safety Department. A formal assessment of the physical requirements will need to be completed through the Environment Health & Safety Department for specific roles which would then reflect into the position description.

Current CASA Class 1 Medical and ability to maintain the requirements of this medical certificat
