Little Blue Door is a vibrant forward-thinking and imaginative growing business with nursery schools in Chichester and Westhampnett. Now is a great time to come and continue your childcare career with us as part of a dynamic team.
We provide nurturing and high-quality childcare at both nurseries from 3 months to 5 years across 4 x separate rooms, each tailored to the age of the children.
Our ethos of ‘developing little minds’ is at the heart of everything we do - from our high-quality facilities and outdoor garden that everyone can enjoy, home cooked food, varied activities (including weekly Forest School, active week’s and regular exciting day trips) - all provide wonderful memories and stimulating opportunities for our children.
We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated practitioner who has experience of working with children aged from 3-4 years to work with our Blazing Stars preschool room in Chichester. As a valued team member you will continue to promote our vision of ‘developing little minds’ and provide all children with the love, care and support required in a nurturing environment. You will need to promote high quality care in a stimulating rich learning environment which offers wonderful opportunities for all children.

REQUIREMENTS OF BEING A PRACTITIONER AT LITTLE BLUE DOOR:

  • NVQ Level 3 minimum or above relevant childcare and education qualification
  • Previous nursery or early years experience is desirable
  • Up to date childcare knowledge and training desirable
  • Be prepared to undertake professional development to continuously improve practice
Responsibilities

To be a proactive member of a team who provides a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment in which babies and young children are supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
You will be responsible for allocated ‘key children’ and will work to ensure their individual needs are met, they are safe, supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential in preparation for school readiness. You will have dedicated time away from the rooms to complete observations / assessments/ plans and work in partnership with parents to ensure they are kept up to date.
We work as a wider team, so although the position we have is predominately for the children over 3 years you will work as part of the wider team across all ages of children from 3 months – 4 years and if required across both schools.
To be successful, you will have a natural affinity with children, be warm, engaging and enthusiastic to make them feel at home. You will also have good communication skills, be reliable, self-motivated and professional. You will ideally have a good understanding of the very best of Early Year’s principles and how to successfully and creatively apply them to provide the very best standard of care. Comprehensive on the job training and support for development is provided.
We are all dedicated and work hard but like to have fun too! We provide a separate ‘team hub’ for comfortable breaks to be taken in (home cooked food and snacks are provided if available!). There are lots of out of hours activities to join in with including meals out, cold water swimming and spin classes!
Our opening hours are 7.30am - 6.00pm and our shift pattern is either 7.15am - 4.30pm and 8.00-6.00pm averaging 45 hours per week full time.
We support and encourage training and development opportunities, whether that means growing within your current role or taking on additional responsibilities.
