Our Sensory Support Service is looking for a passionate and dedicated Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (QToD) to join our team and help make a meaningful impact across Southwark.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf, you will play a key role in delivering tailored support for children and young people aged 0–25 with hearing impairments. You will work across home settings, nurseries, mainstream and special schools, offering teaching, advice, and audiological support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual and group teaching across the curriculum
  • Supporting families in managing hearing aids and promoting language development
  • Advising and training school staff on deaf awareness and inclusive practice
  • Collaborating with professionals such as audiologists, SALT, and cochlear implant teams
  • Contributing to Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and maintaining accurate records
