AK Teaching, a trusted education recruitment agency, is currently seeking a Qualified Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school based in Hexham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified teaching assistant to join a vibrant school community and contribute to the educational development of children across a variety of age groups.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about working with children. The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold relevant qualification
  • Have a flexible and positive approach to working with pupils of different ages and abilities
  • Be comfortable working across different year groups and adapting to the varying needs of each class
  • Have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply and cover the cost of a new DBS check through AK Teaching
  • Be a good communicator and team player with a genuine interest in supporting children’s education
Responsibilities

This position involves working closely with teaching staff to provide additional support for pupils, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be expected to:

  • Support the learning and development of children across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2
  • Work one-to-one with pupils or in small groups to deliver targeted interventions
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom displays
  • Promote positive behaviour and active engagement in lessons
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to support pupils’ individual learning needs

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role, offering stability and the chance to become an integral part of a dynamic school environment. No weekend work is required.
