Job Summary The Qualified Welder (Non-3G Certified) performs diversified hand welding on a wide variety of assemblies and structures using welding equipment to fabricate or non-structural repair products such as machined parts and trenching and shoring equipment. A Qualified Welder is an employee who has completed an accredited third-party welding training program (private training company, Community College, or Vocational/Technical program) and provides documentation verifying completion; the employee does not hold a valid 3G certification. This position is a safety-sensitive role that requires compliance with the company’s drug and alcohol policy and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures. Key Responsibilities   * Performs non-structural repairs of the rental fleet in accordance with applicable procedures and work instructions. * Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job; plans details of working procedure and tool and material requirements. * Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, fitting, and welding various metals in accordance with applicable procedures and work instructions. * Repairs equipment using appropriate welding techniques and equipment; escalates work requiring 3G (or other) certification to a certified welder or supervisor, as applicable. * Maintains required documentation verifying completion of an accredited third-party welding training program and provides it upon request. * Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts. * Repairs worn or defective surfaces. * Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape. * Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly. * May be assigned to dismantle or cut up obsolete equipment, setting aside parts for scrap dealers. * Completes other tasks as may be assigned by the Supervisor. * Must sign acknowledgment of reading and understanding the Company’s safety policy and adhere to all Company safety rules and regulations. Knowledge and Skills * Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. * Completion of an accredited third-party welding training program (private training company, Community College, or Vocational/Technical program) with documentation verifying completion (required). * Strong attention to detail, precision, and control.   * Emotional Intelligence, collaboration and communication skills   * Quick thinker and ability to prioritize safety first  Qualifications * Completion of an accredited third-party welding training program (private training company, Community College, or Vocational/Technical program) and submission of documentation verifying completion. * Minimum (1) one-year welding experience (or equivalent hands-on experience gained through the accredited training program), as determined by the Supervisor. * Does not hold a valid 3G welding certification; work requiring 3G certification must be assigned to a certified welder. * Ability to obtain forklift certification as required. * Must have a valid driver’s license.
