BACKGROUND
The Nigeria Hypertension Control Initiative (NHCI) is implementing a comprehensive hypertension control program aimed at retaining clients in care and adherence to treatment guidelines. The NHCI is seeking a Qualitative Data Analysis Consultant to analyze focus group and in-depth interview data from health providers, clients, community leaders, and clients’ interpersonal support members. This data will provide actionable insights for improving the delivery of the NHCI program.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Demonstrated ability to collect, record, and thematically analyze and report qualitative data.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and document data findings to support the development of high-quality data products and reports.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, engaging with staff.
- Capacity to work independently with high level of autonomy and effectively.
- Highly motivated and reliable with strong organizational skills.
- High level of professionalism and integrity, and a sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy.
- Demonstrated expertise and experience in qualitative research and social and behavior change within the context of public health programs in low resource settings.
- Experience working on chronic diseases and or related health programs in Nigeria or similar settings.
Strong research and analytical skills.Strong knowledge of cultures in target population and fluency in Hausa and/or Yoruba, and English.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inductive and deductive coding and analyze data using pre-determined and emerging themes.
- Work with Project Hope Nigeria Team to ensure intercoder reliability.Document and present findings in a document and slide deck, describing themes and adding supporting data, as quotes, that point to the theme; linking findings and themes to conceptual model and research objectives; and using numbers (e.g., descriptive statistics; statement occurrences) to convey how prevalent or typical a finding or socio-demographic information is or the frequency of statements that relate to a theme; and use tables, charts, graphs, diagrams, and infographics as appropriate.
