Quality Lead / Senior Quality Engineer

£45,000 DOE

Are you an experienced Quality Engineer with a background in precision engineering, aerospace, defence or nuclear manufacturing looking for your next opportunity?

Our client is looking for a Quality Lead / Senior Quality Engineer to take ownership of the quality function, lead the Quality Department and maintain and continually improve their AS9100 quality system.

This is a hands-on role where you'll combine quality leadership with technical inspection, working closely with production, customers and suppliers to maintain high standards and drive continuous improvement.

You'll suit this role if you're an experienced quality professional with strong AS9100 / ISO 9001 knowledge, a background in precision manufacturing and the confidence to lead a quality function while remaining hands-on.

The Role

*Owning, maintaining and continually improving the Quality Management System to AS9100 / BS EN ISO 9001

*Planning and conducting internal, customer and supplier audits

*Managing non-conformances, concessions and production permits

*Completing customer 8D reports and liaising with customer Quality Departments

*Leading, supporting and developing the Quality Inspection team

*Managing the calibration system and supplier quality processes

*Driving Root Cause Analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

*Producing quality performance reports and analysis

*Carrying out dimensional inspection of precision components, both in-process and procured

*Operating and programming fixed and portable CMM equipment

*Leading First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and maintaining accurate documentation and traceability

*Promoting a strong quality culture across the business

Our client is a leading engineering manufacturer and is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join their growing team!

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will develop, implement and maintain the company’s Quality Management System while leading relationships with customers’ quality teams and relevant compliance authorities.

Quality Assurance Manager Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain the company’s Quality Management System
  • Lead the NCR and root-cause analysis process, producing key performance metrics
  • Maintain and continuously improve company quality procedures
  • Plan and lead internal, external and accreditation audits
  • Maintain the company’s ISO 9001 accreditation
  • Support the wider Quality team with its ASME quality manual
  • Work with Procurement to review existing subcontractors and audit new suppliers
  • Monitor root-cause investigations and ensure corrective actions are delivered promptly
  • Support Operations with operational excellence, Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
  • Work with the QC Manager to maintain the team skills matrix and implement development plans
  • Lead relationships with customers’ quality teams and compliance authorities
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Procurement, Logistics and Finance
  • Successfully implement quality systems and improvements across the business

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying errors, inconsistencies or areas for improvement and providing clear, constructive feedback to the team
