Job Summary Join our team as a Quality and Lab Technician at our innovative mushroom growing facility! You'll play a key role in ensuring product quality through hands-on checks at every stage of production, supporting lab work like spawn prep, and driving process improvements. Key Responsibilities Accurately prepares and completes reports for the Quality Management Team with keen attention to detail. Performs final quality inspections of Finished Goods, including BPR material review and disposition. Provides support to the Laboratory following spawn preparation and inoculation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Performs routine facility monitoring and inspection of ingredients, components, and supplies in accordance with cGMP. Performs ATP swabbing on equipment and environmental monitoring zones. Performs scale verification, calibration, and temperature probe logging. Submits Quality-related inventory transfer requests. Processes reserve samples and submit samples for third-party testing Assists with the implementation of the Quality Hold process. Works with the Quality department to place orders for supplies as needed. Assists with maintaining proper documentation and filing, including pest control inspections and related records. Processes and submits routine water samples to third-party lab. Issues items to the R&D team as requested. Regularly assist others with projects assigned on process improvement with the Quality Management Team. Other Duties/Requirements Maintain working knowledge of applicable certification bodies and/or regulatory compliance requirements. Maintain professional and technical knowledge of current trends, practices and developments in the profession. Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety rules, maintaining a good safety attitude, and participate in all required safety training or meetings. Assist with efficient team operation and continuous process improvement by participating actively in all team and departmental meetings. Requirements Required Education and Experience Associate’s degree in a related Life Sciences field. At least one year’s experience in and/or training in quality and/or laboratory setting; or Equivalent combination of education and experience Required Qualifications Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, botanical guides, plant identification manuals, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to solve practical problems. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers. Strong attention to detail, with solid knowledge of grammar and punctuation, ability to proofread accurately and consistently. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications These are not required but are ideal for a successful candidate: Associate degree in related field or four years related experience training in quality management systems or scientific/technical writing. Experience developing Policy, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instruction documents in a manufacturing environment. Working Conditions Work Environment: On-site office/lab and on-site manufacturing environment. Travel Requirements: Occasional (annual) travel to headquarters. Physical Demands: This job requires some light lifting of 25 lbs. or less and may require working in a laboratory environment for four to six hours of an eight-hour shift.
