The ideal candidate will have proven experience in quality assurance within food industry with solid working knowledge of BRC Food Safety standard.

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspection of raw materials on intake and finished product on dispatch against established specifications and customer standards
  • Ensuring traceability of raw materials is maintained through all the process stages to ensure traceability is maintained throughout all process stages, any deviations from the process to be reported and addressed promptly. Conduct scheduled and on request traceability exercises and challenge any deviations from established procedures.
  • Accurate and timely logging of quality reports into the system and active management of raw material quality in the database to ensure prompt availability of information to all functions in the business
  • Working closely with company’s Technical department and assisting with day-to-day tasks and ad-hoc requests
  • Management and handling of rejected products by following hold / quarantine procedures, conducting positive release inspections prior to despatch where there is a valid concern for the standard of the products prior to dispatch, conducting quality assessments and providing feedback for returned products post customer rejection
  • Effectively communicate with the suppliers post intake checks. Gather feedback on quality of product on arrival and log
  • Conduct GMP and area audits, report ongoing problems and deliver solutions
  • Calibration/verification of measuring equipment e.g. scales, temperature probes
