Description
For more than 65 years, we’ve been keeping New Zealanders and their businesses safe, connected and ready for the future. We operate across New Zealand, Australia and the Pacific, delivering mission-critical technology spanning cloud, cyber security, broadcasting, maritime communications and critical communications infrastructure. Backed by a team of 450+ experts, we’re trusted by some of New Zealand’s largest organisations to protect what matters most.  Ko tā mātou mahi - About the role  This role sits at the centre of how we protect the performance and reliability of Kordia’s critical Operational Support Systems (OSS). As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will ensure the platforms that underpin network inventory, provisioning, fault management, and service assurance perform as expected, every time. Your work directly impacts the stability of services relied on across New Zealand.  You’ll operate as a self‑starter with advanced testing expertise, working independently across the full development lifecycle to embed quality from design through to release. Collaborating with engineering, network operations, and vendor teams, you will validate complex integrations and workflows, identify risks early, and ensure issues are resolved prior to production. This role suits someone who enjoys working across interconnected systems and takes a structured, analytical approach to improving system performance and resilience.  Ko tō mahi – What you will do  Reporting to the Engineering Manager within our Operational Support Systems team, you will lead the design and execution of testing strategies across OSS platforms and integrations. You will work closely with developers, OSS engineers, and network operations teams to validate system performance, support releases, and strengthen overall system quality.   What you’ll be responsible for  * Driving the adoption of test automation and AI‑assisted quality practices to improve test coverage, efficiency, and early defect detection across systems and integrations. * Designing and maintaining test strategies that ensure coverage across OSS platforms, integrations, and workflows * Developing and executing detailed test plans, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing * Validating complex OSS functions such as provisioning, fault management, inventory, and performance monitoring * Identifying, tracking, and resolving defects, working closely with engineering teams to address root causes * Testing system integrations, APIs, and interfaces across multiple environments * Supporting release readiness, including deployment validation and post-release verification * Improving testing practices through automation, tooling, and continuous integration approaches * Providing clear reporting on testing progress, system quality, and risk Nā tōu rourou - What you will bring  Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:   * Proven experience with test automation and the use of AI-enabled tools to drive efficiency, improve test coverage, and support intelligent quality assurance practices. * Experience testing enterprise platforms, ideally OSS or network management systems * Strong understanding of testing methodologies, including integration and end-to-end testing * Working knowledge of telecommunications or network technologies (IP, transport, or mobile networks) * Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, or similar * Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI * Ability to analyse complex systems ,identify risks, and troubleshoot effectively * Clear communication skills, with the ability to convey technical issues to a range of stakeholders * Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience Nōu te rourou – Why join us?  This is a role where your work has direct, visible impact. You’ll be improving the reliability and performance of systems that underpin critical network services across New Zealand. The complexity of our OSS environment means you’ll be working across integrated platforms, network technologies, and real-world operational workflows, not isolated test cases.  You’ll be part of a team that values quality as a shared responsibility. Your input will shape how testing is approached, from early design through to release, with the opportunity to lift automation, tooling, and continuous testing practices over time.  We also offer:  * A competitive salary and matched employer superannuation contribution up to 5% * Learning and development budgets to deepen your technical expertise * Internal career pathways across a broad technology environment * Hybrid and flexible working * Enhanced parental leave entitlements * Life insurance and wellbeing support * Access to retail discounts and benefits * Group discounted medical insurance
