Description

STS Packaging, a Schwarz Partners, L.P. Joint Venture company, is currently seeking a Quality/Safety Manager in Charlotte, NC. This position provides proactive leadership, strategic direction, and support to the STS - Charlotte facility in the areas of Quality and Safety. Under the direction of the Director of Quality and the facility General Manager, the Quality/Safety Manager will inspire, lead, and execute strategic initiatives that enable optimum safety, productivity, service, quality, sanitation, and product security as well as maintaining a variety of health and safety programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees within the operations of the facility.

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • BS Degree in Industrial Engineering, Quality or related filed or 5-10 years related experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing TQM, ISO, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma principles.
  • A minimum of 5 years combined of technical, manufacturing, and/or quality and safety management experience preferably in a printing, converting, or other flexible packaging operation or a combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing TQM, ISO, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Quality experience preferably in a paper-converting environment is preferred.
  • ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Certified Black Belt or Certified Green Belt preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance is required. Knowledge and the ability to be the facility’s SQF Practitioner is preferred.
  • Proven technical leadership with the ability to utilize structured problem-solving methods to deliver results.
  • Demonstrated competence to work and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with willingness and ability to learn new systems.
