Description

Our client, a family-owned food company is looking to hire a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician for its second shift at their position in Santa Ana, CA. You will play a key role in ensuring that all products meet company and customer quality standards. This position will be responsible for monitoring product quality throughout production, performing audits, and addressing any product-related issues or discrepancies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Quality Document Management Systems (QDMS) or ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong analytical skills for resolving product quality issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access for report generation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of GMP and food safety regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness in documentation and inspections.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with production teams.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in cold or noisy environments.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards throughout production.
  • Assist production team leaders with product holds and manage related documentation.
  • Support experimental product runs and manage testing for new products.
  • Conduct weekly GMP audits and collaborate with the sanitation department for pre-operation inspections.
  • Perform metal detector checks at the start, middle, and end of production runs, ensuring compliance by production associates.
  • Calibrate thermometers weekly, perform hourly checks on product dimensions, appearance, labels, and packaging quality.
  • Complete forms for foreign material incidents and manage ingredient or packaging holds.
  • Report food safety incidents, including GMP violations and metal detector issues.
  • Maintain accurate records on all quality and food safety checks and report issues to supervisors.
  • Assist in product presentations, including baking and setting up displays.
  • Participate in weekly crew and monthly communication meetings as needed.
