Head Injury Association (HIA) is a not-for-profit organization committed to increasing public awareness of the effects of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). HIA’s mission is to maximize potential among survivors of TBI and individuals with IDD by providing residential and community-based programs to help them achieve four (4) valued outcomes: Individualization, The Quality Assurance Coordinator role conducts investigations of incidents, completes investigation report, audits records in a variety of areas. Overall, this role ensures the quality of care of people receiving services from the Agency via, compliance with agency policies and procedures and OPWDD regulations.
The Head Injury Association is looking for a Quality Assurance Coordinator who will work with each program to provide support and assistance in implementation of the recommendations based upon the outcome of each survey. The QA Coordinator will serve as an agency resource regarding OPWDD and DOH regulations and provide clarification in the interpretation and application of regulations as related to program.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate incidents and allegations of abuse: Interview staff, analyze information obtained during investigations, complete investigation reports, identify systemic issues, and provide recommendations to programs for corrective measures.
  • Maintain and manage incident and audit files according to regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all notifications of incidents comply with regulations, including uploading investigation files to oversight agencies.
  • The QA Coordinator will serve as an agency resource regarding OPWDD and DOH regulations and provide clarification in the interpretation and application of regulations as related to program
  • Provide general and specific training for agency staff on incident related, quality assurance/compliance topics.
  • Communicate with oversight agencies and provide information/documentation related to investigations as needed.
  • Possess Strong communication, written, and analytical skills; ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff;
  • Be Highly organized and detail oriented; Strict confidentiality is required;
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the supervisor.
