Founded by Battista and Tony Piccioni, Piccioni Bros. Mushroom Farm has been in business since 1964. The farm was bought by Lorenzo Piccioni and his sister Anna Piccioni in the early 90’s and the business has grown significantly, becoming known as one of the leading growers and harvestors of premium mushrooms.
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and qualified Quality Assurance Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • a background in food safety
  • minimum of 3 years’ experience in food or farming industry in a related role
    PLEASE NOTE: As we are not located on a bus route, you will need access to a vehicle and the starting salary for this position is 50-60K.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage quality assurance programs for packaging and harvesting departments

  • Assist with audits- SQF, Organic, CFIA, Loblaw etc and any other that may arise
  • Pre op inspections, ATP testing and review of tests
  • Take Retain samples
  • Check product in the cooler and rooms to ensure they meet specifications
  • Lab, water and product testing
  • Loblaws product testing

ASSIST WITH SOME DUTIES OF THE FOOD SAFETY COORDINATOR

  • All training, including health and safety
  • Participate in JHSC meetings, weekly, monthly and exterior inspections
  • Verify coolers, packaging room binder, pest control, thermometer accuracy, metal detector, chemical inventory and documents
  • Prepare monthly checklists distribution and verification
  • Prepare boiler room reports, monthly label inventory, updates to SSOPS/SOPS/Product Specs, work order for maintenance and sanitation and RMC reports
  • Enter production room data and maintain reports
  • Glass and brittle plastic registry
